Summer & post-graduate access to Lexis, Westlaw and Bloomberg Law

Lexis and Bloomberg Law permit unrestricted summer access to both continuing students and law graduatesWestlaw restricts summer access by students and graduates to specific purposes and requires those eligible to apply through their website.

2015 graduates

Lexis Advance
New graduates have access to their school Lexis Advance ID until December 31, 2015.
NEW ASPIRE ID! May 2015 graduates who will be working for a public interest organization (501(c)(3)) can apply for a free one year ASPIRE ID to access Lexis Advance online: http.// See application for confirmation requirements.
Bloomberg Law
Graduates have unrestricted access for 6 months after they graduate. 
May 2015 graduates may register for access through November 2015 here:

Continuing students

Lexis Advance 
Students have unlimited use of their Lexis Advance ID for academic, professional, and non-profit research, subject to the permission of their employer, with no additional registration.
Students may use BLAW during their summer job with no restrictions.  Their access will still be based on their academic account, so docket access will continue to be free.  
Westlaw and WestlawNext will be provided to non-graduating law students participating in a qualifying summer activity:

  1. Summer law school classes and study abroad programs
  2. Law review and journal - including write-on competitions
  3. Research assistant
  4. Moot court
  5. Unpaid internship/externship
Eligible students must register through the “Request a Password Extension” banner located on the home page of the site and agree to use their password for educational purposes.
