Study Room Reservation System

The Elon Law Library has purchased an online Seating Reservation system. Study rooms and carrels can be reserved up to 24 hours in advance throughout the year. It is available and active now.

Study Rooms may be reserved for a maximum of 2 hours per person per day. Carrels may be reserved for a maximum of 4 hours per person per day.

Occupancy Rules:

Ø Students may leave their belongings in their study room or carrel while the study room or carrel is in use.

Ø The law library is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Ø The student must remove all their belongings when they vacate or their reservation ends, whichever is earlier.

Ø Students MAY NOT leave their belongings in the study rooms or carrels overnight or past their reservation time.

Be considerate leave study rooms and carrels neat and clean for the next occupant. Trash, particularly perishable food items, wrappers, or containers should be properly disposed of in the trash and/or recycling bins.

Any damage or issues to the study room and/or carrel (i.e. lights not working, safety issues, etc.) should be reported to the library staff promptly.

Making a reservation:

You can make a reservation by: 1. Going to the Elon Law Library webpage, go to the right-hand side of the page and click on the “Reserve a Study Space” link and fill out your reservation information OR 2. Going to https://elon-law.libcal.com/r and fill out your reservation information OR

3. Scanning the QR Code that is on the window of the study room or on the right-hand side of the carrel you would like to reserve and fill out your reservation information.

After making the reservation, you will receive an email CONFIRMING your reservation. The email will contain a code that you will need to check into the study room.

Checking into the Study Room/Carrel:

When you arrive at your study room or carrel (at the time of your reservation) make sure you check in. You can check in by two methods:

1. Go to your email that confirmed the reservation, there is a link in the email that will allow you to check in and enter the check in code OR

2. Scan the QR Code located at the study room or carrel and enter the check in code you received in the email confirming the reservation.

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK IN! Failure to do so will result in the system canceling your reservation and will allow another student to reserve that space.

Also note: This is a new system for everyone so it will take some time for people to get accustomed to it, please be patient with you fellow students as we navigate this new system.
